The task was to design two costumes for L'Enfant Et Les Sortileges. This opera calls for a little anthropomorphisism as both animals and objects come to life.
My designs were based upon the Cubist works of Picasso and 1930's fashion.

2nd year Theatre Design A level 2005 Unit 5
My task here was to design 3 costumes for Puccini's Madama Butterfly whilst exploring the historical contrasts between men and women in Ancient Japan.
With my designs I looked at a lot of insects as there are a huge range from delicate butterflies to hard looking beetles. I also chose to look at the work of Gustav Klimt because his work reminded me of Japanese prints.
